Technological innovation

The patented K|Lens light field sensor integrated in batchSORTING provides data from 9 perspectives simultaneously with just one image. These images from different angles are the basis for precise AI-based analysis. Our multiview AI enables the simultaneous analysis of multiple parts and the detection of a wide range of defects, increasing the throughput and efficiency of the system. The customizable field of view and working distance allow flexible adaptation to the specific requirements of different applications. The cameras used enable high frame rates, ensuring fast and continuous acquisition of images, which in turn enables efficient processing of bulk material.

Important technical features

Simultaneous recording and analysis of many parts

The system is able to capture and analyze a large number of objects simultaneously in the camera's field of view. This enables a high throughput and efficient processing of large quantities of bulk material. More than 100 parts per image are possible.

Adjustable field of view and working distance

The system's field of view and working distance can be adapted to the specific requirements of the application (e.g. 180 x 270 mm). The adjustment enables optimum detail resolution, especially when detecting small defects in addition to identifying foreign parts.

High image frequency

The cameras used enable frame rates of up to 5 Hz with a 63 MPxl camera, so that each perspective has a resolution of 6 MPxl. This ensures fast image capture and enables the processing of bulk material at high conveyor belt speeds.

Optimum belt speed and exposure time

The maximum possible belt speed is determined by the image field and the image frequency. The exposure time is always sufficiently short due to the flash in order to avoid motion blur.Example: At 3 Hz, an image field of 180 x 270 mm and an image overlap of 30 %, this results in a belt speed of 360 mm per second and a processing rate of 200 parts per second (12,000 parts per minute).
