Important technical features
Hexagonal honeycomb structure as the basis
The sensor is designed for a hexagonal honeycomb structure.
Cell-by-cell analysis
The complete honeycomb structure is inspected piece by piece by analyzing each cell individually. This approach ensures a detailed and precise inspection of each individual cell.
Comprehensive defect detection
The acquired data allows for each cell to be inspected for defective partitions and missing connections to the base plate, including the six immediately adjacent cells.
Precise measurement parameters
The minimum cell diameter possible for a check is 1.5 mm. The cell depth can be up to 15 mm. These precise measurement parameters ensure high accuracy and reliability of the inspection.
Flexible adaptation
Our system can be flexibly adapted to the size of the object to be inspected and the required resolution. This allows the sensor to be used in a variety of applications with different requirements.
Modular design
With a suitable honeycomb structure, several sensors can be combined, which significantly increases the inspection speed. This enables efficient inspection of large honeycomb structures in a short time.
Integration options
Sensor interface USB
The USB interface enables the sensor to be connected quickly and easily to a computer or other evaluation system.
Mounting on XYZ linear unit
For the inspection of larger honeycomb modules, the sensor can be mounted on an XYZ linear unit. This enables precise positioning of the sensor and a comprehensive inspection of the entire honeycomb structure.
Robot mounting
Alternatively, the sensor can be mounted on a robot for flexible and dynamic inspection. This is particularly useful for the inspection of complex components or in automated manufacturing processes.
Combination with K|Lens light field sensor 1inch
The sensor can be combined with a K|Lens light field sensor 1inch to inspect additional features such as the filling of cells. This combination is recommended to avoid inserting the honeycomb sensor into filled or damaged cells, which could lead to damage. The combination enables a comprehensive inspection of the honeycomb structure, including the integrity of the cell walls and the filling of the cells.
3D evaluation with K|Lens technology
K|Lens Multiview calibration and K|Lens Multiview depth calculation are used to evaluate the 3D information. These technologies ensure a precise and reliable 3D analysis of the honeycomb structure.
Advantages
Automated 100% inspection for maximum efficiency
The K|Lens honeycomb sensor enables the automated inspection of 100% of a component's honeycombs. Given the fact that a component can contain hundreds to thousands of honeycombs, a manual inspection process is strenuous and time-consuming. This automated solution significantly speeds up the inspection process and enables seamless quality control.
Unsurpassed accuracy and consistency
Human inspection of honeycomb structures is often error-prone and subjective due to the large number and fine details involved. Our honeycomb sensor provides consistently high accuracy and consistent evaluation across thousands of honeycombs and components. This ensures objective and reliable quality control that minimizes human error.
Precise defect localization
Defects can be localized down to the exact partition between two honeycombs. This precise defect localization enables targeted reworking and repair of components.
